Fallout from bombshell college admissions bribery scandal could take months to unfold

The Fuller House star is among dozens charged in an alleged college admissions cheating scam involving elite colleges and universities including Yale, Georgetown, the University of Southern California and Stanford. Loughlin has been taken into custody and is expected to make her first court appearance in federal court Wednesday for a bond hearing in Los Angeles, California.

Huffman and Giannulli are scheduled to reappear in court March 29 in Boston.

William "Rick" Singer, 58, has been charged with operating a racketeering scheme through his business Edge College & Career Network, which serviced an array of rich people like Hollywood celebrities and CEOs.

Loughlin is best known for her role as Aunt Becky in "Full House" while Huffman is known for her role on "Desperate Housewives".

Loughlin and actress Felicity Huffman are two of the dozens of wealthy parents accused in the alleged scheme that lasted almost a decade.

Arrest warrants were issued Tuesday for 39 parents, including Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, and actress Felicity Huffman.

In court in LA this morning, Ms Huffman looked repeatedly at her husband - actor William H Macy - before she was granted bail.

Macy has not been charged nor have the colleges, which all released statements saying they knew nothing about the scheme.

Huffman is accused of paying $US15,000 ($21,175) - disguised as a charitable donation - to the Key Worldwide Foundation so her oldest daughter could participate in the scam.
