NASA begins search for partners to help land astronauts on the Moon

NASA to send humans to the moon once again – ‘but this time we’ll stay’

The agency is planning to test new human-class landers on the Moon beginning in 2024, with the goal of sending crew to the surface in 2028.

"If you are in a part of the Moon where it is getting dark, you will notice that a lunar night has a duration of 14 terrestrial days, meaning that that part of the Moon would be kept in darkness for two weeks", as said the scientist at the Caribbean Astronomy Society, the last time when hang'e-4 had to shut down during its first lunar night.

Bridenstine said: "Billions of people around the world will watch history being made as astronauts explore more of the surface for longer periods of time than ever before, and help us prepare for missions to Mars and other destinations".

The country's average heavy crude price was also reported to be $56.29 since beginning of 2019 up to the report's publishing day. WTI futures hit a high of $53.70 per barrel before receding slightly to $53.54 per barrel, a 0.83 percent rise, as of 2:04 p.m.

NASA's chief has laid out the space agency's ambitious plan to go back to the Moon next year and, this time, to stay there and explore the satellite like never before. The Gateway will be a space station positioned in orbit around the Moon that will serve as a jumping-off point for missions to and from the surface.

NASA hopes to land astronauts on the moon once again "within the next decade". The agency is also working on technologies to make rocket propellants using water ice and regolith from the Moon.

Nasa is ramping up plans to go back to the moon on a more permanent basis. This process, known as in-situ resource utilization or ISRU, will make the third element also refuelable and reusable.

Bridenstine went on to say NASA is eager to get started "as quickly as possible" and have already committed to working with nine USA companies to start sending new science instruments to the moon's surface on commercial cargo deliveries. Private sector innovation is key to these NASA missions, and the NextSTEP public-private partnership model is advancing capabilities for human spaceflight while stimulating commercial activities in space.

The agency will send "new science instruments and technology demonstrations" to the moon's surface on "commercial cargo moon deliveries" in the future.
