Lakers pushing for Davis deal, 'no plans' in outbidding Celtics

Sources Anthony Davis doesn't prefer Boston because Kyrie Irving might not re-sign

Sources Anthony Davis doesn't prefer Boston because Kyrie Irving might not re-sign

The Celtics would love to add Pelicans star Anthony Davis over the summer.

The All-Star forward's current team, the New Orleans Pelicans, said they will engage in trade discussions "on our terms and our deadline".

While that is an issue for Ball and his representatives, New Orleans does not see the issue. After the New Orleans Pelicans star requested a trade earlier this week, speculation and rumors began to run wild. Before a home game Wednesday, New Orleans removed Davis from a video shown for the team's introduction, and reports claimed that if he is not traded by next week's deadline, he might get benched for the rest of the season.

Based on Wojnarowski and Lowe's report and Ainge's comments, it seems Boston believes it can hold on to Davis if they acquire him, having gone through a similar situation with Garnett.

Howard Schultz is already starting in with the bad coffee references
Schultz , people who don't want to have to worry about going into medical debt are definitely coming for the coffee industry next. Potential Democratic candidate Julian Castro appeared on television to plead with Schultz to pull out of contention.

Of course, the timing of Davis' trade demand suggests that the Los Angeles Lakers are his preferred destination.

It didn't take long for the Pelicans' new intro video to hit the internet. "Wait for us. We are going to be in this, and we're going to be willing to talk about essentially everyone on our roster outside Kyrie Irving".

Kuzma may not have the upside of a Ball or an Ingram, nor is he as young (the Utah product will be 24 by next season), but overall, this season, there's no question he's been the most consistent member of the Lakers' young nucleus.

While Ball's people have indicated through multiple channels that he doesn't want to be on the Pelicans, he doesn't have any choice in the matter. Stars continue to express their interest in playing exclusively for big-market teams alongside other stars, while smaller markets such as Cleveland face the challenge of building a contender through drafts. He's all potential for now, but his upside could be huge if he continues to develop.

Tesla follows Musk warning with smaller profit than prior quarter
Tesla's staff had increased by 30% in 2018, which Musk said was more than the company could support as it seeks to reduce costs. Total revenues rose to $7.23 billion in the fourth quarter, beating expectations, but earnings per share fell short at $1.93.

Ball had been playing well with LeBron James out, averaging 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds per game while shooting a solid 36 percent from long-distance.

Holiday is a flexible enough guard that he already plays both positions, with basketball-reference estimating that 66 percent of his minutes this season have come off the ball, a majority of them coming as a 2-guard.

The Lakers know at this point in time they hold the advantage over anyone else, largely because the Boston Celtics can't bid until the summer.

No US-China Trade Deal until I Meet with Xi Jinping
President Donald Trump is voicing optimism before he meets with representatives from China for trade talks Thursday. For the U.S., presidential involvement is needed to break the "bureaucratic logjam" between hardliners such as U.S.
