Maduro, who previously rejected calls for negotiations, said in an in an interview with Russian state-owned RIA Novosti news agency that he was open to talks with the opposition.

According to reports, new measures announced by the USA limit transactions between American companies and the Venezuela state oil company, PDSVA. Venezuela was put on the highest USA level advisory, a list that also includes Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
The sanctions "further exacerbate the crisis in Venezuelan society" and "undermine the last remaining confidence in the worldwide monetary and financial system based on the primacy of the dollar", Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters.
