Tiger Woods waits to hit his tee shot on the 11th hole of the South Course at Torrey Pines Golf Course during the final round of the Farmers Insurance golf tournament Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, in San Diego.
Rose has made hit one bogey over two days and at 15-under 129 tied the 36-hole tournament record, last matched by Tom Lehman in 2005.
Rose became the first world No. 1 to win a Tour event at Torrey Pines since Tiger Woods in 2008.
'Drove it unbelievably well today, long and was able to take advantage of the par-fives, ' said Rose, who switched equipment companies recently. My rounds got cleaner, and that's what I want to have happen.
"I was maybe close to shooting 63". I couldn't be displeased, " he said. "I was happy with the way I played".

However, his ball came out heavy and found the pond guarding the putting surface.
"Probably harder than the heart surgery itself, watching this weekend", Rose said.
The result saw the Northern Irishman ascend 65 places up the leaderboard into joint-ninth on eight-under, seven off the lead.
"I'm playing well and just need to keep producing", said Rose, whose 20 birdies this week are the most in the field.
"Sixty-five around the south course, I don't care what the conditions are, it's a good score". You have to go out and get it. "I'm still lagging way behind".

A terrible plugged-lie in a greenside bunker at the 18th contributed to a double-bogey six which left him needing a solid front nine to make the cut, and he got back on track with back-to-back birdies at the third and fourth including a sublime chip-in from the fringe.
