Man Clings To Hood Of SUV In High-Speed Road-Rage Incident

Massachusetts State Police responded to Interstate 90 westbound in Weston on Friday, where witnesses had gotten the SUV to stop. It ended when a man with a gun forced the driver out of his vehicle on the highway. Fitzgerald then drove up to 3 miles, at speeds of up to 70 mph, slowing down and accelerating, with Kamrowski clinging to the hood, state police said.

He says he was in survival mode as he hung on to the front of the white SUV as it flew down the Mass Pike for about three miles.

"I felt that he bumped me, and I kind of, you know, was pushed up", Kamrowski told NBC10 Boston.

The road rage confrontation ultimately ended after another driver on Mass Pike was able to get Fitzgerald to pull his vehicle over.

Kamrowski smashed the windshield in an attempt to get Fitzgerald to stop, said his attorney, Joseph Comenzo.

Kamrwoski told WBZ the incident started when Fitzgerald swerved into his lane and bumped his vehicle.

"If someone was attacking me, if someone smashed my windshield, had already tried to attack me from both sides of my auto, I think my first thought would be, 'Let's get out of here, '" Chinman said.

The incident, which was captured on cell phone video, ended when some good Samaritans helped box in the SUV and kept Fitzgerald on scene until troopers arrived.

The video shows one man even forced fitzgerald out of the vehicle at gunpoint. It was later learned he had a license to carry a firearm and was not charged.

The man who got out of his vehicle with a gun was forced to the ground when troopers arrived.

Fitzgerald, of Lynn, is charged with assault with a unsafe weapon and other violations.

Kamrowski was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He is not facing any charges.
