Alec Baldwin pleads guilty in parking spot dispute, agrees to anger management

Police said Baldwin was backing into an open parking spot when a 49-year-old man in a Saab station wagon came in from behind him and took the spot in front of the actor's home.

Alec Baldwin is due back on March 27 for a compliance update on his anger management class.

Baldwin, from his Twitter account for the Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Foundation, blasted the "vermin at Fox News" on Wednesday for saying he allegedly punched the man while arguing over the parking spot.

Prosecutors offered the compromise after reviewing video of the incident, looking at medical records and talking with the victim and witnesses, assistant district attorney Ryan Lipes said.

Prosecutors revealed they were willing to drop the assault charge and stick with a second-degree harassment violation, TMZ reports. He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge.

To be totally fair, I'm not sure the justice system wants to be bogged down with cases over parking spots, but this situation didn't sound good when it was first reported.

"I realize that it has become a sport to tag people with as many negative charges and defaming allegations as possible for the purposes of clickbait entertainment", Baldwin said.

In a follow-up message, Baldwin wrote, "Fortunately, no matter how reverberating the echos [sic], it doesn't make the statements true".

Known for his hot temper, Baldwin has had other run-ins with authorities.

And in 2011, he was thrown off a plane for "extremely rude" behavior after refusing to turn his cell phone off.

Alec Baldwin won't fight his latest legal woe. He won several Golden Globes, in 2007, 2009 and 2010 for his role as Jack Donaghy in the TV series, 30 Rock. In 2014, he was given a summons for disorderly conduct after an argument with police when he was stopped for riding his bike down a one-way street in NY.
