French yellow vest protests continue despite Macron outreach

Reports say tens of thousands of "yellow vests" protesters who thronged streets for a 10th straight weekend of anti-government rallies refused Saturday to demobilise.

Despite a relative decline in crowd trouble in Paris, however, disturbances have flared up in other cities. Twelve people were arrested by the early afternoon, according to figures provided by Paris police.

On Saturday, Le Pen reiterated her support for the protesters at a meeting near Marseille, at which she described the movement as a "legitimate" and "courageous" revolt.
