It's clear that the head coach had to be able to work well with Mayfield or it was going to be an absolute waste of time and resources all the way around.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Browns reportedly dialed it down to two finalists for their head coaching position in Kitchens and Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski. With Kitchens serving as the interim offensive coordinator after Todd Haley was sacked, the Browns went 5-3 under the duo, and Baker Mayfield rapidly became one of the most productive quarterbacks in the league.

The Broncos also hired Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, ESPN reported.

This left me to question, who could Kitchens possibly be thinking about to hire as his coordinators in Cleveland?

There is a "good chance" Freddie Kitchens won't be leaving Cleveland. With it being down to Kitchens and Stefanski, you'd have to wonder if the other is under consideration for offensive coordinator - and if so, is that a better job than the Vikings for Stefanski? Kitchens and Austin coached together in Arizona from 2007-2009 where he was the defensive back's coach.

According to one of the sources, the Browns are narrowing the search, which includes Kitchens, 44.

Sarri also told Chelsea fans to focus on supporting their team instead of directing chants at Spurs fans in Tuesday's tie. I have seen him every day in training, he has been really very normal.

The Browns finished the season with a 7-8-1 record. Given his inexperience, a rise from graduate assistant to National Football League offensive coordinator in the span of two years is an awfully risky chance to take. Perhaps more importantly, Kitchens oversaw the successful rookie season of quarterback Baker Mayfield.

However, owner Jimmy Haslam was not as sold on McCarthy. Haslam instead was pining for interim head coach and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Kitchens may be inexperienced but the connection he has with this offensive unit featuring a rookie at two critical positions can not be overstated.
