Prince William and Kate to honour Leicester helicopter crash victims

On Wednesday, Prince William and Kate Middleton stepped out at Leicester City's football stadium to honor those that died in a tragic helicopter accident on October 27, 2018, including the club's chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. "My thoughts today are with the family and friends of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and all the victims of the bad crash at Leicester City Football Club", he wrote.

William was seen clasping the hand of Vichai's son Aiyawatt before talking to his wife Aimon and daughter Aroonroong.

At the club, the royal couple met charities and fans who benefited from Mr Vichai's generosity and Prince William said that Mr Vichai " was the gel, the glue of the community".

The Duchess of Cambridge laid a bouquet of flowers at the crash site with a signed condolence card from the couple that read, "To Vichai and all those who died in this awful tragedy, you will be dearly missed".

Prince William, who is president of the Football Association, personally knew Mr Vichai and previously described him as a man "dedicated to his family". "He believed in giving back", he said.

Here, the royal couple met staff and students involved in the Leicester City Science Stars programme, which uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and engage with science.

Liverpool can resurrect their Champions League ambitions with a big night at Anfield next month, insists Andy Robertson. "For me it is a red card, yes, but then we have a story and it looks like I am a bad loser".

Two members of Mr Vichai's staff - Kaveporn Punpare and Nusara Suknamai - pilot Eric Swaffer and his partner Izabela Roza Lechowicz, also a qualified pilot, were also killed in the crash.

William & Catherine began the day by visiting the tribute site near the stadium to pay their respects to those killed in the accident.

"And when the man that led this club to victory died so tragically, the people of this city revealed with their outpouring of admiration, that they too shared much of the character that was so central to who Vichai was".
