Man dies following alleged violent assault at Queenscliff

Detective Inspector Michael Boutouridis described it as a "bloody" attack and said it was "quite possible" the alleged attacker was under the influence of drugs during the assault.

"It was quite a bloodied scene", he said.

"The man we have in custody was violent and it took a number of police officers to subdue and arrest him".

Paramedics worked to revive Liam Anderson at the scene.

Further information has been revealed saying the deceased was 26-years old and the man arrested was 20.
