Oprah Winfrey Says She Won’t Be Running For President, Campaigns For Democrat Stacey Abrams In Georgia Governor’s Race

Abrams is a charismatic and well-qualified politician who represents the incoming wave of progressive candidates committed to making real change.

Interesting position, because local Republicans have, from time to time, touting a tax credit that has turned Georgia into a film-making force; the industry contributed an estimated $2.7 billion in direct spending in Georgia past year, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

She touts her experience working with Republicans as a state legislative leader, but she doesn't back down on her promises to expand Medicaid insurance, prioritise public education and push for tighter gun restrictions.

Someone out front, meanwhile, was wearing a giant chicken suit and holding a sign that read "too chicken to debate", an allusion to Kemp withdrawing from a debate scheduled on Sunday in favor of appearing in Macon with Trump.

For her part, Winfrey sought to cut through the party-line framing.

Tribute Concert For Mac Miller Held Last Night
In between performances, video messages from Miller's fellow musicians were played to the audience. According to TMZ , all of the performers joined Miller's family onstage at the end of the show.

"I refuse to let their sacrifices be in vain". "I paid for myself and I approve this message".

"I don't want to run, OK? I'm not testing the waters". Vice President Mike Pence stumped for Kemp on Thursday, and criticized the star power Abrams' campaign has attracted.

"Georgia has always been on a path of change and evolution", Abrams said. "And to vote for myself", Winfrey said to cheers. Abrams faces off against Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp (R).

She added that Abrams is "standing strong for the values that matter to me and the values that matter to Georgians all over this state".

Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp still leads the Secretary of State's office despite being a candidate for governor. "I'm here today because of Stacey Abrams", Winfrey said. "Come on, Oprah! It's dehumanizing, it's completely baseless, it's totally cruel, and again I say, you're much better than that and you're much bigger than that".

Through three quarters Mullens has gone 15-of-20, for 260 yards, posting a near ideal quarterback rating of 156.3. He finished with 86 rushing yards on seven carries and a touchdown. "They're dying to play for the Raiders ".

The competing scenes - from the candidates, to the audiences, to the headliner guests - underscore the choice Georgia voters face Tuesday in one of the nation's premier midterm matchups.

Winfrey will be joining Abrams on the campaign trail.

More than 1.5 million Georgians already have cast ballots.

"This ain't Hollywood!" said Pence Thursday at a rally in Savannah.
