Iran Summons Danish Ambassador Over Plot Allegations

Denmark recalls ambassador to Iran over foiled attack

Iran rejects Denmark claim about attempted attack

Denmark's intelligence service (PET) accused Tehran of plotting to attack three Iranian members of an Arab liberation movement - the Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahvaz.

Finn Borch Andersen, head of the Danish intelligence agency Pet, said the arrested Norwegian citizen had denied charges in court of helping a foreign intelligence service plot an assassination in Denmark.

The alleged Iranian intelligence plot in Denmark threatens to add to tensions between Iran and Europe at a time the two sides are seeking to save the Iran nuclear deal following the U.S. exit from the pact earlier this year. "Of course, we can't allow and will not allow", said Andersen in a press conference.

Iran's foreign ministry was not immediately available for comment on Tuesday, a public holiday in the Islamic Republic.

Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen told reporters he had chose to recall Denmark's ambassador in Tehran for consultations.

Denmark has recalled its ambassador to Tehran and will discuss further action with European partners over an alleged Iranian plan to carry out attacks in Denmark.

The so-called Islamic State group and a separatist Arab group claimed responsibility, and Iran staged several operations in Iraq and Syria in response. Further actions against Iran will be discussed in the European Union'.

"The Danish ambassador arrived at the foreign ministry this morning", foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said in a statement, saying he met with a senior official for European affairs. Denmark will push for fresh EU-wide sanctions against Iran over the development. ASMLA condemned the violence and said it was not involved.

Tehran claims the group is behind a terror attack on a military parade in the city of Ahaz on September 22 that killed 25 people.

Iranian officials flatly deny hatching any plans to assassinate any Iranians living in exile in Denmark.

Without providing any evidence, Danish police on Tuesday linked the so-called Iranian agents of attacking a person in the country.

They support the Ahwazis terrorists that attacked #Iran's parade and when Iran strikes back, they label them as the attackers and terrorists. For almost 40 years, Europe has been the target of Iran-sponsored terrorist attacks.

Tehran summoned diplomats from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Britain for allegedly hosting members of groups suspected of links to government resistance. "We call on our allies and partners to confront the full range of Iran's threats to peace and security". In October, French diplomatic sources said that they had concluded that Iran's ministry of intelligence was behind a foiled bombing attack that targeted a rally organised by an Iranian opposition group near Paris in June.
