If Sabbat had upheld his end of the contract, he would have made another $15,000 on top of the $45,000 Snapchat paid him up front.

Life as a social media influencer has its share of heavy lifting.

Snapchat is suing Instagram "influencer" and actor Luka Sabbat for U.S. $90,000 in damages and compensation after Sabbat failed to uphold a contract promising to promote version 2 of Snapchat's Spectacles (remember those?).

Sabbat is being sued for $90,000 to make up for the alleged breach of contract.

As per the deal inked on September 15, the 20-year-old "Grown-ish" star was supposed to hawk Spectacles to his more than 1.4 million Instagram followers through at least one Instagram feed post and three Instagram Story posts, the suit says. He also agreed to wear them for one post for shows in either Paris or Milan later that month. One of these posts would include a provided swipe up link to Snap's Spectacles, smart sunglasses that can record short videos for Snapchat.

There is one post on his Instagram feed of him wearing Spectacles with five images, but the lawsuit claims he had not submitted them to the fashion public relations for pre-posting approval.

PRC alleges that Sabbat was aware that he failed to fulfill his obligations, but didn't return the funds to the company.

By way of recompense Sabbat's PR handlers are seeking the return of their $45k plus an additional $45k in damages.
