"I don't like to involve myself in any political exchange or situations, it's unfortunate that we are both drawn into this right now", Djokovic told reporters at a news conference ahead of the Paris Masters. "Of course, I would love to [remain] No 1 but I am here to just try my best every day".

Tennis stars Djokovic and Nadal have expressed doubt as to whether they will play an exhibition match at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah on December 22, but they have not withdrawn. "So, for me, it was a very quick decision". "As long as I don't feel like I'm taking a chance on my health prior to London (the ATP Tour Finals), that's the key as well", Federer said. "But I was happy how I was fighting, how I was trying to figure it out in a different manner", he said. "I'm excited", he added, after winning the Swiss indoor championships in Basel on Sunday. On his last appearance in 2015 he was knocked out by American John Isner in the round of 16. He is cautious about his chances of success in Paris, where his only tournament victory came in 2011.
