Intel's New 9th-Gen Core Lineup Boasts 5GHz Clock Speeds

Intel has launched its 9th generation of processors globally, including the new Core i9, Core i7 and Core i5 processors.

Addressing one of the most common complaints from enthusiasts about recent Intel processors, the 9th generation series of processors will come with what Intel is referring to as "Solder Thermal Interface Material" (STIM).

In the US, MSRP starts at $262 for the Core i5, $374 for the Core i7 and $488 for the Core i9. The company demonstrated a single PC with a Core i9-9900K running two games in separate virtual machines simultaneously, but gaming while encoding and streaming is a more likely usage scenario. The new Core X-Series processors will begin shipping in November. It still retains the 95W TDP, works at 3.6GHz base and 5.0GHz Turbo clock, and has 2MB of L2 per core (for a total of 16MB).

Limousine crash: Vehicle 'failed inspection' and driver 'did not have proper licence'
Police have not revealed the names of victims, pending confirmation of identifications and notification of family members. Sumwalt at news conference on Sunday said investigators would determine the cause of the crash at a later time.

The chips are again based on 14nm as Intel has pushed back the production of 10nm Cannon Lake Chips to 2019, now. The big news here is that Intel has made the jump to eight cores in a mainstream chip for the first time. When it comes to video production, these new CPUs are up to 41% faster in Adobe Premiere compared to the previous generation. It has a base clock speed of 3.1 GHz with max boosted clock speed of up to 4.3 GHz.

Core i7-9800X: 8C/16T, 3.8/4.4GHz base/boost, 165W TDP, $589 MSRP. We also have up to 40 PCIe 3.0 lanes on tap, with Intel Optane memory and Optane SSD support a given, as well as Thunderbolt 3. The new CPUs are backward-compatible with the Z370 chipset as well, so you won't need to worry about being locked out of this upgrade if you have an older motherboard.

These new chips will be the first to have hardware fixed for the Meltdown Variant 3 and L1 Terminal Fault problems, while the remaining issues are solved through software.

Tennessee Senate Candidate Phil Bredesen Thanks Taylor Swift For Her Massive Endorsement
According to The Washington Post , more than 105,000 new people registered on the site to vote within 48 hours of Swift's post . For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway.

Why it matters: Intel announced a smattering of new processors on Monday spanning multiple product segments. And new Xeon workstation parts-with up to 28 cores and 56 threads-will debut in December.

Whether or not Intel's 9th-gen speedup matters to you depends on how recently you've upgraded your current PC.
