Giants To Release Or Trade Ereck Flowers By Tuesday

Report: Giants place OT Flowers on trade block, may cut

Ereck Flowers is on his way out of New York, and for good reason | NFL Analysis

Beleaguered offensive tackle Ereck Flowers' tenure with the New York Giants is nearing an end, reports veteran National Football League reporter Adam Schefter.

The move to part ways with the 2015 first-round draft pick isn't a surprise for the Giants (1-4).

Flowers started the Giants' first two games at right tackle and was nothing short of a disaster.

The Giants signed tackle Brian Mihalik off their practice squad to take Flowers' roster spot.

New general manager Dave Gettleman also decided after last season not to pick up the option on the final year of Flowers' rookie contract.

"I think it just kind of run its course, " coach Pat Shurmur said Monday.

The 2018 season has just gone from bad to worse for Giants' offensive lineman Ereck Flowers. In contrast, he turned out to be quite the opposite - a liability and the face of numerous Giants' offensive line failures.

"We appreciate Ereck Flowers' efforts with the team".

Elliott pulls in front late for Dover win

Flowers, who went from left tackle to right tackle to benched, now can seek employment elsewhere.

The good news for Flowers is that he'll likely be a hot commodity if the Giants end up releasing him.

Flowers started 48 regular-season games and one post-season game in three-plus seasons.
