DC Stabbing Suspect Arrested

A suspect was reportedly arrested Thursday morning in the seemingly random stabbing death of a female jogger, whose Tuesday evening slaying in a "very safe neighborhood" stunned Washington, D.C. residents. The suspect ran out of the restaurant heading southbound on 11th Street.

Wendy Martinez, 35, was stabbed several times on September 18, reported Fox5. She appears to be talking to the customers inside before she collapses.

Patrons were unable to save Martinez, who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Washington D.C. Chief of Police Peter Newsham announced the details of Crawford's arrest outside of the Chinese restaurant where Martinez tried to get help.

Martinez's assailant is still on the run.

"Wendy gave back to the immigrant community by enthusiastically tutoring students as they prepared for the USA naturalization exam", the organization said in a Facebook post.
