Gunman shoots wife, four men dead in California

A killing spree left six people dead in east Bakersfield, California, and the massacre took place in five different locations in less than 15 minutes, KBAK-TV reported.

The attack in Bakersfield, a community of 375,000 people about 90 miles (145 km) north of Los Angeles, began at a trucking business where Casarez showed up with his ex-wife, Petra Maribel Bolanos De Casarez, 45, police said. Please refresh for the latest updates and information.

Youngblood said the unidentified gunman entered the business at about 5:30 p.m. local time and confronted another male near the business.

He chased another individual into Bear Mountain Sports and killed him before going to home where he shot and killed two others.

Green ultimately finished with five catches for 69 yards, and surprisingly had the first three-touchdown game of his career. Cincinnati (2-0) has now won eight of their last 10 meetings with Baltimore (1-1), including six of seven at home.

As the deputy drew a weapon and confronted him, the gunman shot himself fatally in the stomach, Youngblood said.

Then, he went to a residence near Breckenridge Road and Mesquite Lane where he confronted a man and a woman before shooting and killing them. The husband then fatally shot his wife, according to Youngblood.

"Then I saw a guy with a gun, shooting", said the witness, who declined to be identified.

After the shooting at the Garcia home, Casarez carjacked a woman driving with her child.

He said he and about five other employees were at the shop after closing time and suddenly heard three very loud gunshots. He headed to a nearby highway, where he saw a deputy and pulled over into a lot. Casarez told the woman he wasn't a 'bad person' and let her and the child out of the vehicle before he drove to Edison Highway, where he was spotted by a deputy, officials said.

Investigators are questioning around 30 witnesses in the case.
