A legislator in Kerala on Saturday made derogatory remarks about the nun who has filed a complaint of sexual abuse against Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulakkal, reported ANI.

The present PILs have been filed alleging that despite the passage of nearly four weeks after the first PIL, no progress has been made in the investigation and that the Bishop was still not arrested.

While addressing a press meet in Kottayam, Kerala MLA called the nun a "prostitute" and questioned that why didn't she complained the abuse when it happened to her for the first time.

The court also sought to know the steps taken by the government to ensure the safety and security of the nun allegedly victimised by the Jalandhar Diocese Bishop Franco Mulakkal and her fellow nuns supporting her in her fight.

The protesters, including five fellow nuns of the rape survivor, said that they would continue their agitation till action was taken against the Bishop. That is why we thought of conducting this protest.
