According to Good Morning America, Owens quit Trader Joe's a result of the unwanted attention, but the store said he is welcome to come back anytime. Fortunately, the shame part didn't last very long. He noted that many of his acting jobs are short-term, requiring a backup source of income. He was the doctor husband of Sondra Huxtable, one of Bill Cosby's daughters on the show.

Having appeared on a long list TV shows including The Blacklist, Divorce, and Lucifer after his role on The Cosby Show alum was basically making an honest living between gigs - yet he received flack for that.

Geoffrey Owens is speaking out in the aftermath of a news article that shamed him for working at Trader Joe's.

Owens said he has been working at Trader Joe's for 15 months and was recognized daily by customers before his employment at the grocery chain became national news.

Owens said he felt the reports about his workplace were in fact attempts at job-shaming. "It might pay better, it might have better benefits, it might look better on a resume and on paper", Owens said. "But actually, it's not better". But he stressed that "every job is worthwhile and valuable".

"No one should feel sorry for me", he told Robin Roberts. I'm sure he'd be great, but given the conditions in Washington right now, such a demeaning position as Senator or congressman would be far below Owens' dignity. I've had a great career.

"Good honest work is nothing to be ashamed of", said Crews , who played for the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers and Washington Redskins. "I wouldn't mind getting auditions, I don't mind if people call me in to try out for things, due to what's happened, but I actually wouldn't feel comfortable (with) someone giving me a job because this happened". He also said that while he was surprised and "devastated" by the reaction to the pictures, he was encouraged to see all the support he got for doing what he had to do to provide for his family. "I wanted a job where I could have some flexibility to stay in the business". "In the past 26 years, I have hardly ever had an acting job that lasted more than 10 weeks", Owens said. "Much respect to you Sir!"
