Mr. Sheridan - now a local councillor in Renfrewshire - has been suspended by Scottish Labour over the post, according to the BBC.

Mr Sheridan, who was the Paisley and Renfrewshire North MP until he lost his seat in 2015, was reportedly responsible for a social media post that spoke of his loss of "respect and empathy" for the community amid the row about anti-Semitism.

Her comments sparked outrage among some Labour activists.
