The Merah Putih will become a part of the network of satellites run by PT Telkom Indonesia, the nation's largest telecommunications provider.

As noted by webcast host and engineer Lauren Lyons, the second successful drone ship recovery of Falcon 9 Booster 1046 (B1046) paves the way for the SpaceX's first-ever third launch of the same rocket.

"The satellite is expected to have a service lifetime of 15 or more years", SpaceX said.

Facebook, Apple, Spotify Crackdown on Alex Jones and Infowars
The lawsuit was heard last week in Texas , with Jones' attorney arguing that his clients' assertions are protected by free speech. Last week Spotify removed select episodes of the conspiracy theorist's show, citing its "hateful content" guidelines.

Eight minutes into the flight, the booster swooped down from space to its second tail-first landing on legs on the deck of SpaceX's modified barge, the "Of Course I Still Love You", stationed 400 miles down range in the Atlantic Ocean.

The company aims for the Block 5 rocket to be used as many as 10 or more times in a row, with little or no maintenance between launches.

If successful, that innovation over time promises to lower the cost of launches that SpaceX now advertises online for $62 million.

In conjunction with the re-launch, SpaceX announced plans to shorten re-launch times for the Block 5 booster to less than 24 hours by 2019, which would further solidify SpaceX's dominance of the private space flight market - dominance that has already pushed Russian competitors completely out of the market and now threatens to lap the technology of the last remnants of Chinese competition. And the structure that holds the engines to the rocket's bottom is bolted down now, not welded, to make it easier to take apart and inspect. That it only took the company a few months to send the booster back to the launchpad is very promising and could mark the beginning of an era of more affordable flights with reusable boosters.

The glare of a Falcon 9 rocket launch lights up the night at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

Musk has said Block 5 will be the last major iteration for the Falcon 9. That distinction goes to an older-generation Block 4 booster, which launched April 18 and then again June 29 from Cape Canaveral, before SpaceX intentionally disposed of the rocket. Meanwhile, the second stage continued onward and went through its own follow-up firing to send Merah Putih into its intended orbit.

The new telecom craft, designed for a 16-year life, was built by SSL in Palo Alto, California.

The new satellite will replace the aging Telkom 1 satellite, which has been in operation since 1999.
