Zimbabwe's president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, extended a hand of reconciliation Saturday to whites and ruled out more invasions of their land.

Mutare - Scores of Zanu-PF supporters started walking out of a a campaign rally in Mutare, 265km east of the capital Harare on Friday, before Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa addressed them. It surveyed 2,400 voters across the country between June 25 and July 6.

Addressing his party supporters at the rally, Advocate Chamisa said Tuesday is the d day for ZEC to concede to the printing of a new ballot paper under their supervision or risk having the country ungovernable.

Speaking to the press meeting, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said that he had reassured The Elders that government was not influencing the actions of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission. "A farmer, black farmer, a white farmer is a Zimbabwean farmer".

He is a citizen like anybody else, the same with me, and the same with everybody. "There is no distinction, if it is there, it is dead".

The MDC Alliance tried to appeal to the Bulawayo electorate by introducing the late Father Zimbabwe's son Sibangilizwe Nkomo who also attended the rally but said he was there to appeal for peace amongst Zimbabweans ahead of the polls.

"We are saying many of our, especially, white farmers, who remained behind and did not go away, we are very grateful for accepting this change, and you must come on board and must be issued with the 99-year leases, wherever the pieces of land which they hold", said Mnangagwa.

Under the new dispensation, there is no discrimination.
