Netflix tests a new "ultra" tier across Europe, but there’s a catch

Netflix is reportedly testing out a new, more expensive subscription plan with HD features, but some are speculating it could take benefits away from users on lower payment tiers. Newsweek has learned that the company's rollout plans for the new pricing tier are not yet definite, and it's not clear if the new tier-the only one to have High Dynamic Range (HDR)-will extend outside Europe. discovered that the test is also available in other European countries including Germany, which offers the new Ultra plan for €19.99 (around US$23).

Users on the premium tier would see their streams halve from four to two and lose access to HDR, but keep 4K viewing. In other words a price hike.
