FBI Suspect faces terrorism charges for planning July 4 attack in Cleveland

The FBI thwarted a terrorist attack planned for the Fourth of July in Cleveland, with more details to be released at a press conference Monday morning.

According to Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Vicki Anderson, the man, 48, faces charges of providing a foreign terrorist group with financial support. He is a US citizen, radicalized in the US, Anthony said. He is expected to be arraigned on the charge in Federal Court in Cleveland later today. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.

The FBI had been tipped to Pitts as far back as 2015, when he sent a private Facebook message to "The Craig Sewing Show", a California-based political commentary show, saying: "The USA will be destroy".
