Mum shares sickening photo to warn of common playground mistake

Going down a slide with your toddler seems innocent enough. If they are too young to go down alone, they shouldn't go down yet. She's still smiling... because it was happening at this exact moment.

Heather Clare posted the picture on Facebook saying it was her annual public service announcement.

"The weight of the adult doesn't allow for the child to stop on the slide", she explains.

She also suggests using "two slides, side by side, where you can ride next to your child but you are on a different slide than them".

As the now viral picture posted by Clare to her Facebook account shows, Meadow's right leg became trapped between the slide, twisting it in the opposite direction.

Lakers willing to offer Ingram in deal for Leonard
But before free agency even begins, the Lakers are hoping to conclude a blockbuster trade to bring in another superstar. At this stage, there are so many different things flying around that it's hard to know exactly what to believe.

At the emergency room, the doctor who treated Meadow - she had a fractured tibia and fibula - explained to Clare that he sees this type of injury all the time.

It was there that Clare learned just how prevalent slide injuries are. "I had no idea and will never be doing it again with my little Jack".

"I took Meadow down the slide on my lap, and about halfway down the slide, I realized her foot was caught between me and the slide", Clare, 35, tells PEOPLE. I strongly feel every playground should have a warning sign, but since I've never seen one (and we go to ALOT of playgrounds), I share this picture every year in hopes that the pain Meadow felt and the guilt that I still feel will save other babies and parents from the same. A 2017 study published in the journal the American Academy of Pediatrics showed over 350,000 children younger than six years old were injured by going down a slide in the us between 2002 and 2015.

She said: 'So every year I do a PSA on going down a slide with your child on your lap. Just like Meadow's had.

She told MailOnline: 'I always see parents riding down the slide with their children at the playground. She went down an nearly 10-foot-long slide with Matthew on her lap first.

Every parent worries about keeping their little one safe.

This isn't the first time slide safety has made headlines this year. I did blame myself. "I didn't know this but after it happened to my daughter, I did a lot of research on it". "This year, a recent conversation with other mom's inspired me to do so publicly".

Luckily, the photo has been well-received, with many parents commiserated and sharing that their children had suffered similar injuries.

"Many parents and caregivers go down a slide with a young child on their lap without giving it a second thought", lead researcher Dr. Charles Jennissen, said in a statement. Parents from across the world are thanking Heather for raising awareness as many, like her, were unaware something like this could happen.

Meadow will be 4 in September. She spent four weeks in a pink cast following the injury.

L'Union européenne estime que la campagne électorale qui a amené à la victoire d'Erdogan n'a pas été " équitable ". Ince a estimé que la Turquie était désormais passée sous "un régime autocratique".
