He added that it had taken officials five weeks to count the items and calculate their value.

According to the USA justice department, assets purchased using 1MDB money include a Picasso painting, luxury real estate in South California and NY, shares in a Hollywood production company and a $265 million yacht, and more than $200 million worth of jewellery - including a 22-carat pink diamond pendant and necklace.
Jewellery accounted for the biggest portion of the seizure - 12,000 pieces of jewellery valued at between 660 million to 880 million ringgit, Singh said.
"There were copies of original bags, I would not call them fakes but they were good copies which were expensive", he said.
