Anthony Bourdain Didn't Have Any Narcotics In His System When He Died

Bourdain took his own life in his hotel room in France at the age of 61.

"No trace of narcotics, no trace of any toxic products, no trace of medicines, no trace of alcohol", prosecutor Christian de Rocquigny told Reuters.

Bourdain had been in Kaysersberg, France, filming his CNN show Parts Unknown with Eric Ripert, the chef of Le Barnardin in NY.

The New York Times reports a French judicial official said they didn't discover any narcotics in Bourdain's body after his death.

Bourdain was cremated in France last week and his remains were then sent back to his younger brother, Christopher, in the United States. In the meantime, Gladys is planning to get her first (and likely last) tattoo to memorialize her late son. There are no plans for a public memorial, and instead the family will have a private ceremony.
