Cavs want to keep Kevin Love with or without LeBron James

This offseason, he's been rumored to be packaged with the Cavs' No. 8 pick for a star to lure James to stay - which the Cavaliers are trying to extinguish. He twice averaged 26 or more points during his six seasons in Minnesota.

The five-time All-Star has helped the Cavaliers reach four straight NBA Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers will have the No. 8 pick courtesy of the Brooklyn Nets via the Boston Celtics, as part of the Kyrie Irving trade.

The Grizzlies are shopping the No. 4 overall pick, trying to unload the contract of Chandler Parsons, which the Cavs are unlikely to have interest in outside of a three-team trade scenario.

"In all honesty, the chances [James] goes to LA is low". "Even with LeBron [on a roster], if you don't play the right way, it doesn't matter". The Hall of Fame center says he was seeking championships later in his career and doesn't think James should do the same thing, according to ESPN. He does not want James, 33, to make the same mistake. However, if they're going to make a big move, it has to start at the NBA Draft.

LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal were teammates for a brief period of time.

Cleveland also has the option of drafting a player and trading him after 30 days, like it did with Andrew Wiggins in 2014 to acquire Kevin Love.

The Portland Trail Blazers are a huge question mark entering this upcoming season, as nobody knows their true intentions, whether they would like to break out their explosive backcourt or give it another shot at the Lillard-McCollum experiment.

Which team Toronto could potentially make a deal with remains to be seen, and a trade might not develop until Thursday night.

All of this information is certainly exciting, however, keep in mind that LeBron has in no way made his decision yet.

Monday night, Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon reported that "the Cavs' front office and James' camp have been in contact over the phone and in person, though there has been no meeting with James present, nor has there been any real dialogue as far as James' future is concerned". It will likely be a long process with a lot of rumors and storylines, and one that will be very irritating to Cavs fans. OK, that kinda stinks (you got me), but keeping LeBron is worth every roster-altering risk.
