Jackson completes move to Top 14 side

Former Ulster and Ireland outhalf Paddy Jackson has completed his move to French side USA Perpignan on a two-year contract.

In a tweet this morning, the Catalan club's president said he was pleased to announce the new signing.

Capped 25 times for Ireland, Jackson "will bring his wealth of global experience to the team", said Christian Lanta, sporting director of Perpignan which won promotion to France's Top 14 league at the end of last season.

Stuart Olding, who had his contract revoked at the same time as Jackson's, has also moved to French rugby.

The club's sporting director Christian Lanta welcomed the player, describing Jackson as a "proven kicker" and a "talented playmaker" who would bring the benefit of his worldwide experience to the club.

Ferris, who retired in 2014, said on Twitter: "Confirmed that my old Ulster team mate Paddy Jackson has signed for Perpignan". Jackson, 26, and Olding, 25, were found not guilty of raping the same woman at a party in Belfast.
