The plane belonged to Ben and Bonnie Krupinski of East Hampton, who were on board when the the Piper PA31Navajo aircraft went down, according to 27 East Hamptons News. "Extreme weather was reported in the East Hampton area at the time of the crash", he said in the statement.
Newsday reports that inside the plane was Ben Krupinski, 70, who has built homes for wealthy and famous clients, including Martha Stewart and Billy Joel.
