Every iPhone could get a screen upgrade next year

While shares in Japan Display and Sharp have taken a hit, ET News notes that Samsung is expected to see a "significant earnings improvement" if Apple does indeed switch to an all-OLED lineup.

"It is unlikely that Apple will be releasing three OLED models next year", said Jeff Pu, an analyst at Taipei-based Yuanta Securities Investment Consulting.

Organic light-emitting diode screens have been embraced as the future of smartphones because they're crisper and use less power than their liquid-crystal predecessors. It's likely that LG would get added as a supplier as well.
