The Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Monday refuted reports of an outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the country.
The Ebola virus is transmitted to humans from animals and is estimated by the World Health Organization to have a 50-percent fatality rate.
Those two cases occurred at Bikoro, a remote rural area where the outbreak was announced on May 8 and then spread to Mbandaka - an event that has deeply anxious health experts.
Cases in Mbandaka, a port city on the Congo river, have raised concern that the virus could spread downstream to the capital, Kinshasa, which has a population of 10 million.
"At first, my work was hard because many people did not want to believe that Ebola was real", Sheku Kamara, an H.I. volunteer, said in a statement. "Everyone must adhere to this vaccination campaign with the goal of protection". They also ensure that those with Ebola symptoms seek medical care and testing immediately.

Guinean experts are at the forefront of the vaccination campaign in DR Congo, where the Ebola virus disease was first isolated in 1976 and is now in its ninth outbreak.
Some 7,300 doses have already been shipped to the DRC and medics hope up to 1,000 people, first in Mbandaka and then in Bikoro, could be vaccinated within the next week. One of the major challenges surrounding the vaccine will be to keep it in properly cold conditions in the DRC's tropical climate. These people knew that more frequent hand washing, limited physical contact with suspected infected persons and taking precaution around burials were all preventive measures against the spread of disease.
Ebola has now claimed the lives of 26 people within DRC, with an additional 21 confirmed cases and another 25 suspected patients.
"The risk of spreading within the country and to neighbouring nations remains real", said Dr Fatoumata Nafo-Traoré of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has deployed 25 epidemiologists to Mbandaka and Bikoro to support the government's surveillance work, its director John Nkengasong told a news briefing in Geneva.
