Juan Carlos Cruz, one of the abuse victims, has alleged that Barros was present when he was abused by Karadima when he was a boy.

In his meeting with Francis on a Sunday at his Santa Marta residence, Mr. Cruz said he had told the pope that he was anxious he would think less of him.

Cruz told Spanish newspaper El Pais: 'He told me: "Juan Carlos, that you are gay does not matter".

He also has spoken of his own ministry to gay and transgender people, insisting they are children of God, loved by God and deserving of accompaniment by the church. "You have to be happy with who you are".

The Catechism also states that "deep-seated" homosexual inclination is "objectively disordered", and that homosexual acts are "acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that 'homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.' They are contrary to the natural law".

A long-standing opponent of same-sex marriage and homosexual sex, the church has never even issued an official statement on whether it believes people are born gay or choose to become gay, Newsweek reports.

It shows that the overall birth rate in the USA is down 2 percent on the previous year, making it the lowest on record since 1987. Why have they both dropped? There may also be a political reason as well, says Donna Strobino of Johns Hopkins University.

Pope Francis has promised to elevate 14 churchmen from five continents to the rank of cardinal who work with the poor or where Catholics are in a minority and putting his stamp on the group that will elect his successor.

This is the first time that the pope has taken a definitive stance, as he sparked a conversation on the topic in 2013 when he famously asked, "Who am I to judge?".

"Juan Carlos, that you are gay doesn't matter", Cruz alleged Francis said to him, according to Crux Now.

Cruz was speaking privately with the Pope last week about his abuse at the hands of a high-up priest in Chile.

Back in 2011, Kardima was found guilty of sexual abuse and was removed from his post.

The 14 cardinals will be created at a consistory on June 29, Francis said in a speech in Vatican City's St. Peter's Square.

During that flight, he spoke about receiving Neria in the Vatican- without actually giving names, saying that "Life is life, things have to be accepted as they come".

And in 2016, he officially suggested a softening of the Catholic Church's reception of LGBTQ+ people in a letter titled, "The Joy of Love", writing, "We would like before all else to reaffirm that every person, regardless of sexual orientation, ought to be respected in his or her dignity and treated with consideration".

"In the case of numerous abusers", Francis said, "serious problems had already been detected in them during their training in the seminary or novitiate".

As for the game's bread and butter, the core player vs. player multiplayer experience has seen some revamps, as well. More details will presumably follow in the coming weeks, but I'm sure there's some excitement with this announcement.
