Arrested Development creator and showrunner Mitchell Hurwitz really wasn't lying when he told fans last week that Season 5 was coming soon. A development which will help Lindsay as she begins her campaign for Congress, to become "part of the problem".

Season five of Arrested Development will debut on the streaming service May 29.

In true Bluth family form, Netflix hasn't announced Season 5's release date through a press email or exciting tweet. According to the trailer, a big portion of the new season sees the Bluths looking to win the Family of the Year award, which should be easy given their company is the one that gives it away. However, a return of the cult favorite seemed imminent when Netflix released a surprise "remix" of season 4 last Friday for "Cinco de Quatro", re-editing season 4 episodes into a more intertwined format similar to the original series.

Mitchell Hurwitz, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Jim Vallely and Richie Rosenstock are executive producers on Arrested Development, and it is produced by Imagine TV and 20th Century Fox Television for Netflix. And it looks like Tobias (Cross) will be Michael's new understudy. But thanks to the internet's passion for the show's catchphrases and characters, Netflix brought it back for a fourth season in 2013.

In a recent feature with the Hollywood Reporter, Netflix chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, said that the actor has "always been totally professional".
