TPD To Collect Expired, Unused Prescription Drugs

Durham police, DEA host 'National Drug Take Back Day' April 28

To help people get rid of their old medication, KSP is partnering with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 28.

Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, and many area police departments plan to participate.

If you plan to take back your leftover prescription drugs to KSP tomorrow, here are some suggestions from officials.

Aardman Developing Chicken Run Sequel
The film was Aardman's first entry into the world of feature-length animations and was co-directed by Peter Lord and Nick Park. It also featured the voices of Phil Daniels, Jane Horrocks, Miranda Richardson, Timothy Spall and Imelda Staunton.

According to the DEA and MSP, drug take-back programs are the safest way to dispose of expired or unused drugs, as flushing unused drugs contaminates the water supply, and drugs thrown in the trash can be retrieved, abused and/or illegally sold. Many youth report abusing prescription drugs for the first time by taking it from their parent's or someone else's medicine cabinet, the coalition said in a press release. "The more unused painkillers or controlled drugs we can help to remove from homes, the more potential lives will be saved".

Drug take-back programs are the best way to dispose of drugs, according to the DEA. The last Take Back day, in October 2017, had participation from 5,321 collection sites and collected almost a million pounds of prescription drugs.

"It's not only about preventing people from stealing or abusing prescription drugs, but it's also about preventing accidental use and overdose, especially by our senior population".

Amazon stock temporarily took a hit in the immediate wake of President Trump's unfavorable tweets but has since recovered. In the previous quarter, which included the busy holiday shopping season, it had a profit of more than $1.8 billion.

Organized nationally, by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and locally, by the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH), the twice-a-year event has resulted in 76,474 pounds of medication being collected in 15 events since 2010.

"In the past a lot of people would have taken their medication and they would have flushed down the toilet", Lacy said. "Rising prescription drug abuse has devastated families and communities in Kansas and across the nation", said Colyer. Some sites include the sheriff's offices in Osceola, Lyon, and Sioux counties, and the Sutherland Police Department, among others. Kiosks are available at Kaiser Permanente locations for public use during regular service hours.
