Gmail accounts to get new Confidential Mode, and it could change how you use email

Google is expected to implement new design changes within Gmail for all users within the next couple weeks. A new snooze feature also lets you temporarily remove emails from your inbox until a certain time, so you can avoid certain email threads until you're ready to reply.

While Google is set to update the look of Gmail, few details of exactly what the tech giant has in store for its ever popular email service remains unclear.

Google will also introduce a new feature, dubbed Confidential Mode.

The more you use Smart Reply the smarter it gets, learning how you are likely to reply to an email, enabling you to replay with just a single click.

Smart Reply - Smart Reply suggests three responses you might send based on the content of an email you received. Smart replies offer suggestions for quick one-line replies within emails. The recipient will have to log into their Google account to view it and you won't be able to copy and paste the message itself (although you can still apparently screen shot it). Snooze can also bring the email back when you're at a specific location, which is useful for setting aside personal email for when you get home from work.

The default inbox view also has new icons that differentiate the types of attachments accompanying emails, as well as list file names, though the compact view returns the icon to the traditional paperclip and hides file names. Finally, an email can be locked behind a two-factor authentication process to ensure that only the intended recipient can read it.

In times when privacy and confidentiality seem to be at risk, this new confidential mode could be a huge success among Gmail users.
