Bon Jovi reunited with former members onstage last night to celebrate their admission into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, as the late icon Nina Simone and other nominees made up this year's induction class.

Wow, what a beginning.

"Pay some rock "n" roll the eternal Tom Petty", frontman Brandon Flowers said, as photos of Petty were displayed in the background. TV and radio personality Howard Stern inducted Bon Jovi. Whether this was at the behest of the Rock Hall or the lack of willingness by the band, though, only one thing for now remains certain: Be, bop, a, lua, baby, this was a major bummer. "Jann is in charge, but I don't know why".

Le patron de la gendarmerie a affirmé sur CNEWS que "le niveau de violence" de l'"adversaire" était "extrêmement important". Cette "déclaration d'intention" sera transmise à la Direction départementale des territoires.

When it came time for Bon Jovi's speech, he didn't disappoint. "I'm honored to induct Sister Rosetta Tharpe into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame", Howard yelled following a video package featuring past interviews from Johnny Cash, Aretha Franklin and others praising Tharpe's musicality. "I've actually written it many ways, many times". "This is really more about a group of people more than one person, it's a collective, a brotherhood and that's something that needs acknowledging tonight". After Bon Jovi took up the first hour of the four-plus hour long event, three members of Dire Straits unceremoniously inducted themselves. He literally recounted the band's biography, seemingly straight from the group's Wikipedia page. The group then proceeded to power through several of their mammoth hits, including "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "It's My Life". With the much-publicised non-appearance of former Dire Straits frontman and songwriter Mark Knopfler, and the odd absence of a fellow artist to introduce them, it fell on his former bandmate and longtime friend John Illsley to induct the group himself. That left Dire Straits' keyboardist Alan Clark, bassist John Illsley and keyboardist Guy Fletcher to deliver induction speeches without a presenter or a performance.

"Her voice was so distinctive and powerful and I never heard anything like it", the R&B superstar said. This year marked the band's third nomination. "It was a pleasure to go on this journey with him".

Lead singer and guitarist Mark Knopfler skipped Saturday's ceremony and his absence was a major disappointment to fans of the band, which was influenced by blues, country, Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan. Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard and guitarist Felicia Collins (who plays guitar in the Marie & Rosetta stage show) performed in honour of another 2018 inductee, Sister Rosetta Tharpe. The band did not perform after speaking.

Orr died in 2000, but each of the band members acknowledged his impact, with lead singer Ric Ocasek saying "it feels odd being up here without him". "It's quite unusual to be here without him", Ocasek said in reference to Orr.

The evening performances included tributes to musicians who died in 2017, with the Killers performing Tom Petty's "American Girl" and "Free Falling" and Ann Wilson of Heart and Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains paying tribute to Soundgarden's Chris Cornell with the artist's 1994 hit "Black Hole Sun". "Without Cleveland, what the (expletive) is rock and roll?" said Van Zandt, who received quite the audience response. "That's why Nina is so important and means so much to me".
