Forsberg, Predators seeking 2-0 lead vs. Avalanche

Same old story here with the Avalanche, which scored on its first shot for the second straight game but went on to lose for the 12th consecutive time to the Nashville Predators.

Over is 5-0-1 in Predators last 6 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game and over is 4-0 in Predators last 4 vs. a team with a winning record and Predators are 8-0 in their last 8 Conference Quarterfinals games. It looked like this could have been Colorado's game and they could steal a win in Nashville.

Nashville Predators left wing Viktor Arvidsson (33) jumps to screen Colorado Avalanche goalie Jonathan Bernier (45) during the third period in game two of the first round of the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs at Bridgestone Arena.

"I'm happy with the way we played", Colorado coach Jared Bednar said. "I got this handsome towel, catfish in the cooler, let's do this!"

"It was just one of those that come us up I guess when you skate, and it worked", Forsberg said. "But it's a tough loss".

An area Nashville will need to improve on heading to Colorado will be their slow starts.

The series now moves to Colorado for game 3 on Monday night. In Game 2 each of those guys logged more than 21 minutes, with Subban a team-high 27:03.

Kevin Fiala returned the favor at 1:01 of the second period on the power play and the game was tied at 1-1. So going to the box and playing without 5-on-5 was not good to us tonight.

The Predators really gained their footing on the power play and they were able to take the game over. The Avs carried the 1-0 lead into the second period.

Indeed, the Avs again played well at the outset, scoring first and controlling play.

Bon Jovi reunites for performance
The group then proceeded to power through several of their mammoth hits, including "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "It's My Life". The band did not perform after speaking. "He was singing a bit and then he asked me "How are you doing?'", Vivolo-Carson said".

Mitch Marner, Tyler Bozak and James Van Riemsdyk scored for the Maple Leafs, who never got closer than three goals down after that.

Then on an unusual play, Ryan Hartman snuck behind the Colorado defense, while the Avs net was empty, and stole the puck from a lazy defense and slipped it into the net for the 5-3 advantage. It was downhill from there. "I take a trip in the neutral zone and at the start of the second period, they score to capitalize on it. So we have to be better at staying out of the box". Forwards Tyson Jost, Colin Wilson and Matt Nieto also weren't credited with a shot Saturday. After the Predators added their second goal to go up 2-1 they showed their dominance and took over.

After Hartman gave the Predators a 5-3 lead, Alexander Kerfoot pulled Colorado to 5-4 with 35.8 seconds left.

"There's definitely no quit on their side", Johansen said of the Avs. Game 5 would be back in Boston on Saturday, if necessary. "We've got to make sure we close out games better".

Embattled Sorrell exits CEO post at WPP
As for Sorrell himself, he was quiet on Twitter. "If WPP does well, I do well", he told the Press Association in April 2016. While the timing was sudden (and perhaps calculated to limit immediate PR damage), his exit is not all that surprising.
