As TechCrunch reported, ESPN's new service came with a redesigned app, which will put an emphasis on personalization.

If you're an Apple device user, you'll be able to access the new ESPN app - and ESPN+ on the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

Disney has just joined the ranks of streaming content providers with their new ESPN+ service.

ESPN+ will include live sports, original shows and films (like its 30 for 30 documentaries that were all recently removed from Netflix), exclusive studio programs and an on-demand library. If you work for Disney, you might describe it as "thousands of additional live events", which includes a game a day from Major League Baseball, and a game a day from the National Hockey League (starting next season). Walt Disney Company, which owns ESPN, has plans for several streaming services across their various brands.

Fortnite gets a pop-up fort with the new Port-a
The release date is not yet revealed but we can probably expect the update with the Port-a-Fort to hit before the end of the week. As the Port-a-Fort is now being teased in-game, we'd assumed it will be released this week, possibly alongside Week 8 Challenges.

"ESPN was built on a belief in innovation and the powerful connection between sports and a remarkable array of fans".

Disney International chairman Kevin Mayer revealed that the service will be loss-making at launch.

In other words: If you don't already pay for cable, an ESPN+ subscription will give you some of a lot of things, but not all of everything.

The $4.99-a-month service, called ESPN+, offers an array of live sports, including some college games, pro golf and Grand Slam tennis, along with more niche offerings like boxing, cricket and rugby.

Ancient human finger bone found in Saudi Arabia 'could rewrite human history'
Tests revealed it could only belong to a human and that the bone was robust - pointing to a history of manual labour. This is how the researchers dated the fossil and found that the finger bone was approximately 88,000 years old.

We've been saying this for a long time; more recently, executives from ESPN and its owners at Disney have been saying it as well.

Unfortunately, despite the subscription fee, you don't get to escape advertising entirely.

Cord cutters: you can subscribe to ESPN+ today, which costs $5 a month, and there's even a seven day trial.

The new ESPN App delivers a unique experience to every fan, while also enabling meaningful curation and presentation from ESPN's unmatched storytellers, journalists and content creators. The powerful technological platform surfaces ESPN content based on favorite teams, sports and leagues, as well as ESPN's award-winning journalism and personalities. The new app continues to offer free content, including sports scores, news, analysis clips, video highlights, and select live and on-demand sports audio content. The app will also be available for Apple and Android TVs, Amazon tablets, Amazon Fire TV products, and Google's Chromecast.
