Harry Styles grew up just outside of Manchester and returned to the city to perform a show at the very same venue where the attack occurred.
He addressed the tragedy during his concert, playing a song in tribute to the 22 people killed as they left Ariana Grande's show past year. "But tonight I think it means so much more than it ever has before being in this room".
"I grew up coming to my first concerts in this room, I love this room", Styles - a Chesire, England native - told the crowd. "We have a choice, every single day that we wake up, of what we can put into the world, and I ask you to please choose love every single day".
"The next song we're going to play - I wrote it a couple of years ago and it's always meant a lot to me", he said. "And I thank you for spending some time with us".
Theresa May and other politicians not invited to Royal wedding
While it didn't look all that likely that President Trump would be invited, many speculated that the Obamas would be included. The mother-of-three said she initially thought the invite was an "April Fool's prank", adding it is "truly unbelievable".
Styles then launched into a guitar-fueled rendition of "Just a Little Bit of Your Heart", which he co-wrote for Grande's 2014 album, My Everything. She sang it a few times, and now we're going to do our version of it for you. "I stand with you Manchester".
The one year anniversary of the attack is on 22nd May and the victims will be remembered by a large-scale singalong in Manchester called "Manchester Together - With One Voice".
