New Delhi:Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold an all-party meeting with the Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee on unauthorised constructions in the national capital on Wednesday to find a solution to the ongoing sealing drive.

Kejriwal wrote to Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari expressing regret over certain statements he made against the BJP leader.

AAP leaders earlier told NDTV that apology will be the template of how the party would deal with defamation cases against the Chief Minister and other senior party leaders.

"I have nothing personal against you", Kejriwal wrote in the letter to Gadkari. Kejriwal apologised to Gadkari in a letter dated March 16, where he wrote he was feeling sorry for making 'certain statements, without regard to its variability, which seem to have hurt you'. I regret the same.

As he tries to untangle himself from a mess of defamation suits, Mr Kejriwal is already in trouble with a section of his party for apologising to Bikram Majithia, a Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Punjab minister.

Surjewala also asked Kejriwal to apologise to the people of Delhi for the poor governance in the capital. Various AAP leaders condemned his move, including leader of opposition in Punjab Sukhpal Khaira, who said that Kejriwal's decision reflects "mental weakness".

Kejriwal faces 33 defamation cases, including those he has just apologised for, and has been reported to have more than 10 appearances in court this month. In his letter, Kejriwal said he had made unverified allegations.

"I hereby withdraw all my statements and allegations made against you and your father and apologise for the same", he added. If anything has happened to anyone due to what we had said, we will apologise and work for the people.

Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal's "apology spree" to end a string of defamation cases filed against him has come under attack from his political opponents.

AAP's Punjab unit president Bhagwant Mann and co-president Aman Arora quit their posts in protest, forcing Kejriwal into damage-control mode. The move had taken everyone by surprise, especially the AAP's Punjab unit.

While these two cases have been under spotlight, the Delhi chief minister has been named in more than 30 defamation suits.
