Accusers Can Testify In Cosby Retrial, Judge Says

Judge agrees to let 5 more accusers testify at Bill Cosby's retrial

Judge Steve O'Neill determined Thursday that five women will be allowed to take the witness stand and share their allegations against the scandal-plagued comedian with the jury, The Daily Beast reported.

Thursday's ruling by Judge Steven T. O'Neill could transform the April 2 retrial from a he-said-she-said case to one about a pattern of sexual misconduct spanning decades by the celebrity once revered as "America's Dad".

The decision adds considerable pressure on Mr. Cosby, 80.

Cosby's lawyers argued the alleged assault that led to his arrest couldn't have happened in January 2004, as accuser Constand has testified, and falls outside the statute of limitations. He remains free on bail.

This last season, he had a career-low 26 receptions and two touchdowns to go along with 391 yards in 12 games played with eight starts.

The doctrine played a small role in a Pennsylvania court ruling that was issued a year ago after O'Neill delivered his decision on previous accusers for the first trial.

Bill Cosby arrives with publicist Andrew Wyatt for a pretrial hearing on March 6, 2018.

"(He) could not have been mistaken Ms. Constand was unconscious and unable to consent", Jappe said, "because he'd done it for so long".

Prosecutors had asked to call 19 additional women to testify against the entertainer about experiences similar to Constand's. At his first trial, last summer, which ended in a hung jury, Mr. Cosby faced only one additional accuser. Johnson testified she met Cosby around 1990 through her employment working as an assistant to Cosby's personal appearance agent at the William Morris Agency.

The only other hints jurors got of Cosby's past came from deposition excerpts from 2005 and 2006 in which he admitted getting quaaludes to give to women he wanted to have sex with.
