Delhi Metro starts Pink Line connecting DU’s north-south campuses on Wednesday

A Metro train moves across the new Majlis Park and Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus Metro section during a media preview in New Delhi

With the inauguration of the stretch, travel between North Campus and the South Campus will take barely 40 minutes. As soon as the pink line gets started Delhiites can travel from one station to another about 40 minutes, officials said. The 20 km line is special for the fact that for the first time a direct metro service will connect the two areas of Delhi.

Ahead of the formal inauguration of the Pink Line on Wednesday by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri, the Delhi Metro on Monday gave a tour to the media on the 21.56-km stretch of the Majlis Park-Deshbandhu South Campus Metro station.

The operating section will have 12 metro stations-Majlis Park, Azadpur, Shalimar Bagh, Netaji Subhash Place, Shakurpur, Punjabi Bagh West, ESI Hospital, Rajouri Garden, Mayapuri, Naraina Vihar, Delhi Cantt and Durgabai Desh Mukh South Campus.

Un drapeau allemand pour accueillir le roi belge — Canada
L'organisation s'est emmêlée les pinceaux et a confondu le drapeau belge et celui de la République fédérale allemande . Une erreur diplomatique de taille qui a rapidement été rectifiée.

North Campus students already have a metro station, "Vishwadyalaya" on the yellow line that connects Samaypur Badli from Huda City Centre, Gurgaon.

According to the DMRC senior official said that the DU's two campuses going to be connected for the first time through a Delhi Metro network. "It will help in cutting travel time for commuters and particularly benefit the students, who had to travel mostly by road till now", a senior official of the DMRC said.

Passenger services on the stretch will begin from 6 pm onwards on the same day from both Majlis Park and Durgabai Deshmukh South campus stations simultaneously, the official said, adding that "the end-to-end travel time on this section of the Pink Line would be 34 minutes".

It's a big benefit for students who traveled either by road from the North Campus or took the Airport Line Metro till Dhaula Kuan and find their way again via roads. The stations also have platform-screen doors. This is the second big corridor for the DMRC after the Magenta line.

Metro's new generation trains, which can run without drivers, will also run on this section where an advanced communication based train control (CBTC) signalling technology will be pressed into service. All thus, however, will happen after 2-3 years; until then, the trains will be operated by human drivers.

All the stations have been certified as Platinum by the India Green Building Council, the DMRC said.

De Boer respects Mourinho a lot - brother
Why the former Crystal Palace manager made that dig is a curious one, but Jose was well within his rights to reply. In the first half, the game gave us the opportunity to be direct, fast and score goals, more than we did.

The Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar corridor, also known as the Pink Line, is part of the Phase-III project. The entire corridor will open by June 2018.
