Back in January, the team from Philips Hue shared their plans for an outdoor line of color-changing smart lights (among other things). New luminaries - starting at $30 - can be set to be activated by motion sensor or a timer, but only produce white light. Today, Philips announced its new outdoor range, which extends the light bulb system's smart features from within the home to its exterior. "While Philips Hue bulbs and luminaires are available for every area inside your home, we wanted to traverse the threshold and offer connected luminaires designed for outside areas".
Phillips has also debuted its new Hue White PAR38 light bulb [1,300 lumens ~$US30 - $60], which can be easily screwed into existing outdoor lighting fixtures.
