The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted Tuesday morning, "With the March looming and some murkiness around #Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater's contract, he is expected to be a free agent, sources say". Because he was on the PUP, or physically unable to perform list so long, it is possible his contract tolls, or freezes, meaning he would still be under contract another year with the Vikings.
Bridgewater said in October he had been ready to practice for several weeks before he was activated, and if the NFLPA would have been able to point to medical data corroborating that claim, it might have been able to successfully argue Bridgewater's contract should not toll. Free agency is their best bet there, and Bridgewater may turn into a cheaper option to jump on and put under center.
Bridgewater said "without a question" he wants to be a starting quarterback next season.
Jacinda Ardern: 'creepy' interview with pregnant New Zealand PM sparks outrage
New Zealand PM, Jacinda Ardern , took part in what is being called one of the most "uncomfortable" 60 Minutes interviews to date. The interview has primarily been denounced for not focusing on Ms Ardern's policy or her work as New Zealand Prime Minister.
What the open market holds for the 25-year-old remains to be seen. There was 24 of these similar types of injuries through all sports, half of them never came back.
The Vikings, meanwhile, are coming of an NFC championship game appearance. Committing so much money to him when Pat Shurmur is no longer in the building would be a massive gamble.
Why not add the best possible quarterback? The Vikings have until March 6 to tag Keenum; if they placed the franchise tag on him, he would receive a one-year contract worth the average of the league's five highest-paid QBs over the past five years. He served as the primary No. 2 quarterback by the end of the season after Sam Bradford went down with a knee injury, then eventually had arthroscopic surgery.
MotoGP: Marquez adds two more years to Repsol Honda deal
We were able to announce the contract renewal at such an early stage due to our mutual trust, and our common passion for racing. Yoshishige Nomura , HRC President, added: "I am very pleased that Marc Marquez will continue to ride for our factory team".
Meanwhile, the Vikings could still choose to re-sign their 2014 first-round pick, who will likely be paid like a backup after a serious knee injury in August 2016 forced him to miss all of 2016 and limited him to just one appearance a year ago behind Keenum.
Keenum, 29, completed 325 of 481 pass attempts for 3,547 yards, 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions, going 11-3 in 14 regular-season starts.
The Minnesota Viking having an interesting dilemma on their hands at the quarterback position that will be the center of focus this offseason.
