Attorney General Josh Hawley went on Twitter Friday to weigh in on the indictment of Greitens.

The Missouri Republican Party says the indictment against Gov. Eric Greitens amounts to a "political hit job" by a Democratic prosecutor. Greitens has admitted to the affair but denies any crime was committed.

Missouri Governor Eric Greitens, under indictment for invasion of privacy in connection with the cover-up of an extramarital affair, has resigned from a leadership position with the Republican Governors Association, the organization said on Friday. And that he did - especially in the area of tort reform, where Missouri is now weighing a host of potential changes, including a bill that would restrict lawyers from joining multiple similar cases, and another which seeks to shorten the statute of limitations on filing personal injury lawsuits. The woman's ex-husband alleged that the affair happened in March 2015, and that Greitens took a picture of the woman he meant to use as blackmail. It alleges Greitens took a compromising photo of a woman without her consent during their affair in March 2015, before he was governor.

Whoever picks up the reigns will have an enormous job rebuilding trust inside the Nationals and between the Coalition partners. That helped factionalise his party room opening the way for an internal push to dump him once a reason to do so arose.

The facts and the Grand Jury's decision to indict, speak for themselves.

"We look forward to a bipartisan committee of legislators elected by people across Missouri to find out what's really going on- ensuring St. Louis liberals aren't controlling the future of our state", Cooper said.

The woman told her husband, who was secretly taping the conversation, that Greitens took a compromising photo of her at his home and threatened to use it as blackmail if she spoke about the affair.

Greitens, a former U.S. Navy SEAL, was once considered a rising star in Republican politics, and is now feeling heat from his own party. The charges are unfounded and baseless.

Meanwhile, state Democrats are demanding Greitens' resignation.

About 100 students from the high school made the 400-mile (640-kilometer) trip on three buses. "We know what we want". Nikolas Cruz , a 19-year-old former student at the school, has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder.

Facing legal trouble in Missouri, Gov. Eric Greitens will skip this weekend's National Governors Association meetings in Washington, and he will also step down from his post on the executive committee of the Republican Governors Association. Republicans have already announced they are launching an investigation into the indictment charge. The indictment follows an investigation that was launched in January, after Greitens admitted to an affair with his St. Louis hairdresser.

Cooper pointed to a 2016 article from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch about how Gardner's campaign received large donations from super PACs with ties to Soros, who supports progressive causes, including a $73,000 donation from the Soros-backed Safety & Justice PAC in July.

In response to the "governor's personal attacks", Ryan said, her office "believes the courtroom is the appropriate place to argue the facts, not the media".

She said Greitens "taped my hands to these rings and then put a blindfold on me", took a photo of her partially nude, and then warned her to remain silent.
