News of an alleged threat spread quickly Monday afternoon and evening after a parent of a St. Joseph student posted on Facebook that her daughter had received messages via social media that "someone is planning on shooting up the school".
Threats in Roxbury were made online during an internet video game and the threats were also chose to be not credible, according to The Reporter.
Although no threat was reported, Plum Borough School District was on an "external lockdown" Friday, meaning all external doors remain locked and checked regularly. Deputies talked with the person believed to be responsible for that threat and their guardian and believe the "situation is contained".
However, this latest incident comes only a week after a male Carmel student was detained, after officials said he threatened a female student with a knife on Carmel High School property.
