Facebook Lists: Site reveals new feature designed to make people share more personal information

All of these updates are created to entice more people to interact with other users by posting more content and share more details about themselves. The feature has started rolling out today and should reach all the users soon.

The latest feature is added to its Status Updates box, allowing you to post lists to Facebook.

It added a feature called Did You Know to the Status Updates box in December, which asks you to answer a series of questions about yourself.

The new feature allows users to create customisable lists and post them to their news feed was launched on Tuesday.

You can also customise it with an emoji and background colour, to make it stand out in the News Feed.

The lists are also designed with the idea that friends could copy each other's lists to share their own opinions about the subject at hand.

For now, the list feature is only available for users on Android. iPhone users will be able to view lists but can't create them yet.

"On social media, you can passively scroll through posts, much like watching TV, or actively interact with friends - messaging and commenting on each other's posts", the company wrote. Recently, the company announced that the feed will move away from showing news and brand content to focus more on posts from friends and family. But one problem with that strategy is that people have been posting less personal content over the years.

Earlier this week, eMarketer released a report predicting that two million young people will stop using Facebook this year, and instead turn towards Snapchat and Instagram. Facebook has not said when it expects all users to gain access to the feature. It should be next to other options like Check In, Photo/Video, Tag Event, and Support Nonprofit.
